Just finished Imperial Glory by Richard Williams, which in short is about the Brimlock 11th regiment fighting off feral orks on the planet Voor. Personally, I find Guard-books are a lot more enjoyable to read, because humans with all their flaws are a lot more relatable than a space marine will ever be. In this book there’s lots of characters, from every place in the Imperial warmachine, for example a (really) trigger happy Commissar and even an Ogryn. This must the first time I’ve seen an Ogryn in a book, very fresh to see how childish they really are. Sergeant Booth made an impression on me, even if he wasn’t the most fleshed out character.
There are also some pages from the ork point of view, which are absolutely hilarious but also interesting if not very simple.
Right off the bat, I would give it a 8/10. Not a must read from Black Library, but nevertheless excellent. On one of the last pages there is a mention of veterans from Richard Williams own family, which is very touching.
I made Bane today! I’ll probably sculpt a badass greenstuff-coat for him later.
I just had to buy these Roman Gladiator Helmets from Maxmini, stumbled upon them while searching for pre-heresy shoulder pads. The idea is to create a squad of guardsmen from a feral gladiator homeworld. However, I’m not quite sure which bodies to use, current ideas are Catachans or Chaos Marauders.
Any other suggestions?

DAMMIT
I’m not getting the IG winter heads after all, out of fucking stock! At least this way I don’t spend too much cash, but dammit still…
Currently reading this, time for some long wanted Imperial Guard action. They may only be humans, but damn they have their moments!
